Walk of Life - A Race, A Chase

Walk of Life

"A never ending race and the great seat chase"

Right to education is a fundamental right of every Human Being, which seems to be violated by the Educational institutions by preventing admission or biased admission process. Parents often claim that admitting a child to a good school has become a feverish experience. They often say that "Admission process is not transparent and even after complying with all formalities uncertainty lies over admission into school". This predicament is created due to limitation of seats in prominent schools and thousands of applicants over them, in near future it is expected to exacerbate. This rush is no far from the day when parents will have to reserve a seat for their child before its birth. Scramble for seats begin soon after Diwali, while academic session starts from May.
We may say that Government is the culprit. But instead of inhibitions by Government, through "Right to Education Act", such as reserving 25% quota of total seats in an institution for economically weaker sections, amalgamations of cacodemon (either be rich or corrupt institutions) have always exploited rules for their benefit and to make money. Without any shame "Temples of Knowledge" demand donations and one time admission fees apart from tuition fees and lunch fees which are already very high. This is resulting in soaring of educational cost and making it more difficult for guardians to educate their children, while we say that education is an initial step towards development of the Nation. But present scenario is not favourable, Opaque admission process, Scramble for seats, high cost and in-affordability of education have become a part of never ending race in walk of life.

Janmashtami & Teachers Day

5th September is celebrated as Teachers Day in memory of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan and according to Hindu calander auspicious occasion of birth of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami, was to be celebrated on 5th September 2015.
The day was Bonhomie.

To celebrate this day with little kanhaiyas team of AnantAman Social Welfare Society visited an aashram for underprivileged and poor children. It was 3pm then.

We had planned to organise 'Matki Fodh' competition and a couple of games thus scarce time put everyone to begin preparations as we reached there. Tasks were alloted to everyone just like I was supposed to do photography, decorate 'Matka' etc. Deadline was 5pm and everyone did very well to abide by it. Function was started punctually.

Matki(vessel) containing Maakhan was hung high in air, a challenge for Govindas to rise and reach the height to attain Maakhan. Pyramid of one upon other, aiming to break Matki, rose high from 1 storey to 2 then 3 and collapsed. Enthusiasm, energy and determination drove little ones to try once again - to fail again - to try again until they succeeded. As the proverb says "Koshish karne walo ki kabhi haar nhi hoti" ... Finally they tasted victory with creamy Maakhan. Important lessons were learned while competing for challenge and performing traditional ritual.

It was time to celebrate victory, learnings and birthday of Gopal. Music began, everyone was set with jolly mood, to forget the world around, to enjoy and to dance like no one is watching. Latter children were served with evening tea.

We bounced back to field, it was time for more games -- more fun. 'Toss the ball', 'Frog jump race' & 'Blind fold chase'. Members grouped with children to form teams. Creativity was put to test when children were asked to name their teams. "PK", "D's team" and many more funky names came up. Mr. Hemant Gupta took the responsibility to judge. Hooting, supporting and leg pulling chants echoed loud under the calm blue dome. D's team concluded to be champion with overall best performance.

Gopal's favourite Maakhan was distributed among little Kanhaiyas and their care taker.

Coming towards end, we accumulated memories, fun & smiles shared and alot of learnings. It is truly said, nobody actually have a pure heart like a child.
