Briefing of Educational Survey
Date : 11th April,
2015 Saturday
Village Name : SagarPaisa
Gram Panchayat : Kacharod
Block/District : Indore
Respondent’s Name : Mr. Mahesh
Bhatia (Principle)
Mr.Ravi
Singh Sisodiya (Teacher)
A small village 30 kms away from
Indore city named as SagarPaisa. A calm place with 150-175 households and
population 1000-1500. It takes about an hour to reach there from Indore city.
Literacy level at village is 30-40%.
After reaching village, we have
visited government school over there. We were responded by Mr. Mahesh Bhatia,
Mr. Ravi Singh Sisodiya. We questions them and we found that, the school had
established in year 2005 and consists of both Primary and Secondary.
There are 4 teachers who are
handling primary school, since, there is no teacher appointed for secondary
sections so primary school teachers are teaching to secondary school students.
The total strength of students are 143 consist of 84 boys and 59 girls. On the
day of visit approx 118 students were present.
We analysed those kids knowledge
with some acivities such as poem reading and board writing, asking about their
future goals, inquired about their background and daily schedules.
Children over there are less
aware with the technology and new emerging trends in the society. They need
career guidance and motivation to study ahead. Children were shy, little
confused seeing the new faces inquiring and instructing them.
While interacting with students
we found that some students are sharp in studies and some students who are in 6th
Standard and can’t even write their names in Hindi. Students are very weak in
English language.
Many Students are regular but the
problem with irregular student is that they aren't getting support from family
due to their financial insecurity. Major occupation in the SagarPaisa village
is agriculture work and labor work.
As information provided by Mr.
Mahesh Bhatia, children at SagarPaisa village belongs to Barela Samaj and
speaks more in the language preferred in their family.
Government provide an amount of
rs.5000 to school for their maintenance and many times to avail some facility
for students teachers pay from their own pockets. The staff of school is
supportive. Books are provided by the government but students have to arrange
for the stationeries by themselves.
Many problems were faced by the
students coming from other village and even by the teachers, as no proper roads
are there to reach at village. People have to cross a small river in between SagarPaisa
and ticha village which is very risky. Many official authorities and
politicians have acknowledged this problem and promised villagers to solve it
as soon as possible but still problem prevails and the outcomes are not
satisfactory. Although there is possibility from next month under Pradhan
Mantri Sadak Yojna the bridge will construct overthere.
In this survey it was also found
that there are no proper medical facilities in village, people have to move
approx 7 kms to get treatment. On a scheduled day of week i.e. on every
Tuesday, Dr. Mrs.Gyatri appointed by government come for visit in village for
health checkup.
Children study on floor by
matting down the daris, not a single desk is
available. Total 4-5 chairs are there and that to arranged by teachers on their
own. No Separate toilets are there for boys and gilrs.
Another major problem in village
is lack of Water. They are struggling for consumable drinking water and water
to be used by school in preparation of mid-day meals for children.
